Apps- Android Paid Apps Finally Available in Canada
Android is an Operating System for smartphones designed by Google. There are a number of android phones on the market and a great place to check them out is on androphones.com.
Until recently only free Android Apps were available in Canada. There was no way to purchase apps, due to the absence of a Canadian billing engine for purchasing paid Apps. This has finally been resolved and all paid Android Apps can now be purchased in Canada.
Canadians have long been crying out for access to paid apps. Let me remind you of three key points before you dash to the Android Market.
- Certain paid apps may still be unavailable or troublesome if your phone has not been upgraded beyond Android 1.5 (Cupcake). Apps designed for use on 1.6 (Donut) or higher are often incompatible with certain phones, so if you don’t see an app listed in the market, that’s probably why.
- You have 24 hours to change your mind. If an app is incompatible or disappointing, you have 24 hours to decide whether or not to keep it. Open the Android Market and go to your “Downloads” page to see the list of installed apps, select the app you no longer want, and press the refund button.
- App prices are listed in American dollars, British pounds, Euros, or Yen. The market lists app prices based on the currency used by the home country of the DEVELOPER, not the user. If someone in England releases a paid app for 5 GBP, the display will not convert the price into Canadian dollars. Be sure to consider that when deciding how much you are willing to pay.
